Journal Page from Rituals Of Creativity™ Online Class

I find that to move forward in life we must look at our stuff! This means knowing our internal fears and writing them down. Acknowledging our fears and then moving past them. This is a lifetime pursuit - our fears never go away. But we can learn to view them with an acute eye. One of my fears is failure - as universal as you can get! When I get a negative review for one of my books, I feel like someone stabbed me in the heart! I feel like a failure. My whole being failed, not just the book!

What I do is then talk to myself - the reality of the situation is that not everyone will love 'me'. Or my writing or books. There are millions of people out there, all with an opinion. So do I stop writing for fear of failing this one person? No! If the review has constructive criticism, I will think about what the person wrote and see if this will help in improving my next book. If the review is just someone ranting without telling me why they ranted or because this was a book that didn't grab them, then I ignore it and move on. The painful feelings pass and my passion gets reignited and I'm ready to take on the world again.

I learned not to let my fears stop me from pursuing my passions. Yeah, sure, sometimes my passions have a HUGE learning curve, meaning I will have lots of mistakes and failures, but I've learned to enjoy the journey and embrace my mistakes.

So I challenge you to Just Look At Your Stuff!

Cheers,

Vicki

Encoustic Art  'Writers Blocks"
I saw this piece of art in La Jolla and thought it was
a creative way to express the concept of creative
blocks.  My photography lacks but each block had
some of the same "fears" that all creative people
have from time to time.  The top were crumpled
up pages that came from frustration.

It shows how the creative process is at work.

In our Rituals of Creativity™ Course we learn
to break down those fears and turn them into
fun!

Today I am reflecting on how the Uranus/Pluto square energies are facilitating the digging up and then breaking up of the old.  It feels like a true alchemical experience on many different levels.

This year I especially want to regard appreciation and gratitude as a part of the daily "Rituals of Creativity". I know from experience that it is how we perceive and where our focus lies that will be where the energies one has to work with develop in to something manifest.  Something of beauty!

Therefore I want to do more of what makes my light shine so that others will be inspired to get creative.

It does not mean everyone needs to paint …. Creativity is within us and how we approach life will determine our joy.  Be creative in everything you do. Look at all sides and take the common ground.

Anything that we choose to be angry about will just about kill creativity.  I quit watching the so called news.  They are determined to stir up anger and separatism.

One can still see at a glance online what the world is facing.  For me choosing creativity is how I can make a difference.  It is a time of innovation and change and fighting only creates crystallization.  So as I shared my 2014 motto…"Be rebelliously creative!"  And be in JOY… CHEERS
