I want to share with you a blog post on color palettes of master artists.

Art Varsity is the website, and they have taken 35 famous paintings and listed the dominant colors used by the artists. This is a cool idea and a great way to find out what color combinations inspire you.

My favorite palettes were two paintings by Henri Matisse. What are yours?

Wow! We can't believe it's already Week 4 of our Vibration Of Color course. All of our students have done such an incredible journal work. If you'd missed taking this course, we will be offering it again this summer.

What's coming up? In May, we are offering Rituals Of Creativity. Rituals of Creativity investigates the creative process through an invitation to create. There will be videos to view, assignments to complete and share, and Creative Mining, a supplemental document to support further investigation into the subject matter. All assignments will use a visual journal format. We believe that the creative process is not a linear one. Therefore the modules overlap and you might find yourself going back to one or more past modules as you work on the current one.

A new class is in the making! Journey With Words...where we'll explore the importance of writing and the power of words. This class will available in the fall of 2015.

We hope you will stay in touch and join our 3 Creative Alchemists Facebook Group.

We always love to hear from you!

Vicki and Roberta

Roberta is visiting and we're putting the finishing touches on Vibration of Color™ which starts in February, and Rituals of Creativity™in March.

I took this picture in Japan at one of their wonderful shrines. The colors were so beautiful and added to the serene nature of the landscape.

I've been trying to get into the art studio for the longest time. Really there is no excuse, but after saying that, I've been writing more than painting, trying to finish up a first draft. I did try my hand at using Venetian Plaster on canvas. Roberta loves the stuff! I can't say how successful I was with it, but it did create nice texture. I did one layer of paint so this is a start...

One of my favorite sights in Prague was visiting the John Lennon Wall. Since 1988, this wall has been evolving. Visitors come to view, write, and paint on the wall. Always changing, this is a wonderful continuous art piece representing peace and love.

Welcome to 3 Creative Alchemists. Our classes are designed to encourage and inspire, and are a safe place where you can explore your creative side. Beauty and inspiration are fundamental to the creative process. Dr. Wayne W. Dyer put it wonderfully when he wrote: Being creative means trusting your own purpose and having an attitude of unbending intent in your daily thoughts and activities. Staying creative means giving form to your personal intentions.

Enter our world, explore are online classes and workshops. Watch our free videos on different art techniques for journaling. Tap into your creative nature. Just Have Fun! Roberta and Vicki

"My Atmosphere"

This is a painting that was bought a few years ago.  I am going to visit the woman who bought it to see where it is in her collection.

We are getting ready to work with gold leaf as a background to paint this week and it reminded me of this piece.  The beauty of expression is you never know where it will lead and who will respond..the important thing is to let it go and just express!  And JUST HAVE FUN

This is so Awesome.  1766 Color wheel.  I love the idea that it is so old but very precise.  I wonder if someone did it by hand…?  Having made several color wheels over the years.  It is no easy task to get those intermediary colors.  Love it!

This is the corner of my studio.

Today I am going to start a project of creating the last 14 years of the "Color of the Year" tags.  Pantone anounces each year since 1999 a color that overshadows the fashion, design and make up world for that year.  Some years the color reflects th happenings of the times…the zeitgeist  so to speak.  Other years it appears the color is picked to lift spirits and or calm nerves!

So as I write the contents for a color class it is the vibration of color that is so facinating!  There is so much more to color than meets the eye and at different times in our lives we relate or perhaps reflect the color that is needed most.

I love all color but my personal favorite at this time is Turquoise.  In the past I have been in a brown phase, a purple phase, a red phase and if you live long enough you can observe why you choose your favorite colors at different times.  Too FUN NO FEAR
